Tweet Tweet M@ther F@ckers

A weekly Round up of Sunday, April 23rd

4/24/20234 min read

The Happy Gilmore crew headed to Yankee Clipper on this beautiful sunny, Sunday afternoon. The format was 3 and 1, minus 5, unless someone needed help getting to the required minimum score. (Just another example of Commissioner #5 bending over backwards to make everyone happy and eligible for prizes).

This week was special, special for the "foursome" of Andrea, Craig and Lonny. Playing as a foursome to get Andrea her third foursome score, these three had a day to remember. "Tweet, Tweet, Mother F@ck@rs", was heard throughout the golf course for all near and far. Playing spectacular, no phenomenal, Lonny, Craig and Andrea birdied all 9 holes. Also, they scored 2 bonus points on each hole except #9, where they only netted 1 bonus point. A league record 53 points! This may never be broken. The only team to birdie #9, they split the skins, totaling $48 bucks. And could it come on a better day?, where the Somers invited the entire group to their lanai after golf. This gave Lonny, Craig and Andrea a "captive" audience to re-live every shot, every putt, over and over again..... Congratulations Andrea, Craig and "I acted like a 9 year old who saw their first boob", Lonny.

Enough about them. Let's talk about, well let's just call this group, what it was, Goose Shit. The goose shit group of Harry, #5, D1 and Jill played behind the Tweet, Tweet group. What a great time.....Not. As the Tweet Tweet group went on to post a record score, the goose shit group posted a season low 24 in the 3 and 1, minus 5 format. As D1 chip-putted the -5 ball across the green into the water on the first hole, we knew this day was going to be long. Personally, I began thinking about the pizza at the Somer's. "Would there be green olives? Why does so many HG'ers like green olives?" This goose shit group will receive some $$$$ for having posted the lowest score for this season, so there is that.

The Group ahead of the tweet, tweet group were also lucky enough to share in the 9 birdie glory. Playing 3 and 1, minus 5 format, the powerhouse, stacked team of the Rathburns and Grinchs posted the day high (in the 3 and 1 format) by gathering 45 points. 45 points without getting 1 birdie. Carmen said Jon carried the team on his back. Smiling Sue didn't give a shit what the team scored, she was just excited to be out of work. Phil stated he was consistent on each hole. Benefitting from Jon and Phil's great play, Carmen moved into 3rd place in the women's standings and number 1 in raw score. Congratulations Carmen!

The second place team, playing in the 3 and 1, minus 5 format was the party hosts of Big Jim and Julie teamed with Kmac and Krissy. Teeing off first so the party favors could be set up, this fantastic foursome scored several birdies enroute to a second place score of 40 (16 points more that goose shit). Fine round. Lead leading Big Jim (not pictured in red), along with KMac and "what's going on?" Krissy pushed second place Julie into the lead in the women's division. Next week, both Julie and Big Jim will have the honor of wearing red. Congratulations Big Jim and Julie!

Next up is "No good deed goes unpunished" group of Dennis, Dodi, Nicole and Dean playing in the 4 person format to get Nicole her third score. Nicole, originally paired with Andrea, but with Dave and Mira last minute scratches, the Commish thought putting Nicole with Dean would be beneficial and easier on Nicole. No so fast! Dean's play was described as "bad". Nicole would have rather played with 53 point Andrea. Who knew? By all accounts this group just didn't click this afternoon. Limping in at a 34 point total, only 19 points less then the tweet tweet group. (Still not as bad as the goose shit group)

Next up, the Fabbro's needed a 2 person scramble score to get the require prerequisites to become eligible for prizes. Teamed with "we don't need this score" Bob and KC, these teams play very well on this tough course. Bob and Pam scored 22 with KC and Mark scoring a 23. Both teams punched in 2 birdies each. Hitting the green twice on #9 bumped up their final scores. Excellent job!

Finally, Wayne who needed a scotch double score and Debbie who did not need a scotch double score, but won't complain about playing scotch doubles, although she hates it, played in the scotch doubles format. They had a tough course to play scotch doubles on. Anyhoos, they were able to score 19 points, respectively. After Andrea's 9 birdies, it didn't matter what Wayne scored. Onto the Somer's!!!!

One of the most anticipated days of each season, the Somer's lanai pizza party is so appreciated by The Commissioner and all HG'ers. Always voted as a top 5 after event party (in the lanai category) in The Villages. This one did not disappoint. Just ask "I burnt my finger, so my wife gets thrown into the scotch doubles format, but I will ride along, to come to the Somer's lanai party", Dave. The Goose Shits were a hit! The food was over the top (as always) and plenty of green olives. Thumbs Up! Plenty of pictures were taken, many bartenders, and great laughs were heard throughout the lanai. Lots of advice on how to enjoy retirement, and who could forget the endless re-hashing of the 9 birdie round of Craig, Lonny and Andrea. A perfect day for all to enjoy. A heartfelt thank you from all of us!

Until next week, tweet, tweet M@ther F@ckers!
