Another great day to be playing golf with your friends here in The Villages. Sunny, 85 degrees with a slight crosswind. Today was CLASH day 3 (out of 4) The Crushers began the day with a commanding lead. Up 7.5 points to 1.5 on the Destroyers, The scene was Red Fish Run, a favorite amongst the Happy Gilmore faithful. I was surprised as anyone when Charlie from The Villages Golf presented me with two certificates for being named "Top 5 Commissioner 2023". This was the fourth year in a row. Charlie read the certificate, "Another outstanding year for Scott. Organized, polite and displays love for all his Happy Gilmore golfers. Congratulations, you earned it."

"What a shock" stated Scott, "unbelieveable, my colleagues would vote for me again. Great people make great commissioners, and that's what we have today".

On to the results. First up was the Crusher's Carmen and Jon verses Destroyer's Dodi and Dennis. The format was 2 person scramble. On Saturday, Dodi and Dennis played Red Fish Run twice, while Jon laid on the couch complaining of a sore back. The practiced paid off as Dodi and Dennis tied Carmen and Jon with 28 points. Jon sunk a 10 foot downhill putt to secure the tie. 1/2 point each.

Next, we had the 3 and 1 format. This pitted the Crusher's Jill, Wayne, Andrea and Phil against 2.5, Bobby, Krissy and KC. While all the matches were close, this one kinda got away from the Crushers. The Destroyers defeated the Crushers, 47-44. It was Phil's first loss in 2 years. Destroyers notched a point, 1.0.

The third match of the afternoon was the Pick Your Poison format. This joined the Crushers, Mark F, Julie, Debbie and Harry verses The Destroyer's D1, KMac, Mira and Craig. The closest match of the afternoon. The Destroyers outlasted the Crushers 60-59. Another point for the Destroyers.

The final match of the afternoon combined the Crushers #5, Pam, Sue and Big Jim against Dean, Lonny, Dave and Charli. In the 4 person scramble format, the Destroyers spanked the Crushers, 38-36. It should be noted at this time, Big Jim stopped talking to #5 due to #5's piss poor performance on the golf course. Also, a rumor was floating around that Sweet Sue told, no, demanded, that Carmen NEVER puts her with #5 ever again, as long as she breathes on this earth, so help her God. Quote, "#5? more like #2? He was Fu%&k#*g shitty" The victory gave another point to Dodi's Destroyers.

For the Day, the Destroyers garnered 3.5 points to the Crushers 0.5. The CRUSH Championship all comes down to Day 4.
