A re-cap of Sunday's Gray Fox Golf Day

"It felt like Chicago, the Windy City, (except for the gunfire, riots, looting and expensive restaurants, etc) because it was WINDY!" With that said, 19 brave souls played Pick Your Poison. First off the tee, Kenny, Krissy, Mark F and Pam. Has anyone told Kenny, he didn't need to tee off from the black tees? Guess not. It was a tough course and with the wind, any number in the 40's was going to be respectful. With Birdies on one, six and nine, this foursome came in after subtracting two points from their "seven" points, they took on #9, they netted a 46.
Next up was the Heimans, Andrea and Wayne and Engs, minus Jill. After nine birdies last week, Andrea was due to have a let down. With a birdie on six and a double birdie somewhere else, they also birdied the ninth to take money from group #1. With 3 birdies, they tied for second with a 53.

Next off the tee was #5, D1, Dean and playing as a female for the third consecutive week, Lonny. This group tried miserably to score from the black tees. Their Motto, of "go big or go home", turned out to be "should have stayed home". Missing mostly all day from the black tees this foursome scored a 47. D1 played excellent as long as she wasn't teamed with her loving husband, #5. We never heard, Tweet, Tweet, M@th@r F@ck@r once. It was Lonny's last day before heading to Iowa. #5 did birdie #6 without assistance.

Teeing off in the fourth spot was another rag tag team, thrown together due to spouses missing, were KC, Bob, Craig and Dodi. This crazy foursome birdied number two, three, and five. Three Birdies is not too shabby. Craig was disappointed in only three birdies, as it felt subpar from last week. Also, his golf cart cover was blown off his golf cart on the fifth hole and hitting poor KC. It was that windy. Their strategy of playing the green tees paid off as they netted a second place finish with a 53.

And finally, the Grinches and Somers teed off last. The wind had quieted down when they teed off. Much easier conditions for their round. Utilizing the now calm winds, this powerful foursome birdied holes two, four, eight and nine. This propelled their score to a day high of 62. This 62 cemented both Big Jim and Julie as Winter 2023 Happy Gilmore Champions! They will get their names forever engraved on the Happy Gilmore Cup. Congratulations Jim and Julie.
