Well, so, the Toyota's we drive at the recreation centers have a device that indicates how well you drove during that particular driving errand. The rating goes to a low of at least, 63 and a high of 96. That is all I have seen. So, I am having my 3 month employee evaluation and my driving "score" comes up. I am averaging 77. What my boss wants to see, is closer to 90. I quickly explain the rating is bias to older drivers. Only approximately 20 % of US drivers are of the age group, 55-60. So, did Toyota take this into account? How would Toyota know who is driving at the time of this rating? I advised my superior that this possibly cannot be unbiased. Also, does this rating take into account, I have had numerous hours of defensive driving during my police career? Maybe, I can drive safer, faster, while keeping up with the "flow of the traffic". I explained, I have been trained so I can safely drive faster, stop quicker and change lanes in a jerky manner safer than 90 % of the general population. Finally, he agreed, moving forward, 77 will be fine.
CLASH Day 2 fell upon us this week. The Crushers came in leading 3.5 points to 1.5 over the Destroyers. Several golfers took the day off. Charli working, Kenny and Krissy going to country concerts, Mark and Vicki with other obligations and Wayne partnering with Aaron Rodgers and going dark.
Four matches were played on Sunday, March 5th. Reporting from Bonita Pass: In the 4 person scramble, the Crushers Jon, Mark F, Joan and Kim R scored 41 points. The 41 points were enough to hold off the mooning Destroyers of D1, Dennis, Lonny and Dale. The Destroyers netted a 35. First match went to Carmen's Crushers 1-0. Next up at Bonita Pass was the ever-popular Scotch Doubles. The Crushers Phil and Sue R outlasted the Destroyers, Sue B and Mira 52 to 36. Carmen's Crushers up 2-0.
Onto Red Fish Run. Following the momentum from Bonita Pass, the Pick Your Poison format presented the closest match of the day. The Crushers made up of Carmen, Sam, Harry and Julie netted 63. The Destroyers, of Dodi, Craig, KC and Bob posted a 60. Carmen Crushers up 3-0. The last match was the 2 person scramble. the Crushers #5 and Andrea outlasted the Destroyers, Dean and 2.5, 32 to 27. With 2 CLASH dates to go, its Carmen's Crushers 7.5 and Dodi's Destroyers 1.5. Certainly not over yet, but the crushers are in the driver's seat, as they say.
