Check Your Pockets before Washing
Thoughts on this week's golf results

Well, its been a tough week at the Beckner household. First a nail in Donna's golf cart tire. I took it to Colony's Tire Choice Auto Service. Here is a tip, if you need extra cash, go be the guy that fixes punctured tires without an appointment. I was there for 25 minutes, as I was fifth in line (why didn't Donna take HER cart to get repaired, another Blog). Anyway, this guy fixed 3 automobile tires with plugs and 2 (including Donna's) golf cart tires. I watched everyone before me, gave a tip of $10. Hey, $40 bucks in tips and he is getting an hourly wage. I will admit, it was kinda awkward when he was done with Donna's cart and I shrugged and whispered, "yeah, I don't carry cash". Afterward, I did stop in Beef O'Brady's for a beer and a burger.
Then my elbows. I now have more empathy for people who have nagging pain, such as Harry. I may start a Gofund me page for Stem Cell injections.
I also got into a disagreement with my Dentist. (Donna says it my fault for my abrupt style of conversation). It appears we may have mutually agreed to go our separate ways. Afterward, I did stop in Beef O'Brady's and had a burger and beer.
Then Donna washed my favorite bowling shorts. With a blue pen in the front pocket. The result turned out to be what one would expect.
Happy Gilmore Golf
What a beautiful day today. A day that reminds me that growing old is a gift. Sunny, no wind, low humidity and 86 degrees. 32 golfers playing the format, "Pick Your Poison". Kenny, Krissy, Harry and Jill turned in the top score of 68. Grinch's and the Flaagan's netted a 62. Reilly's, Mark F and Joan grossed a 61. Dean, Nicole, Phil and Sue compiled a 59. #5, D1, Big Jim and Julie crawled home with a disappointing 57. Bob, KC, Sam and Sue netted a 56. Lonny, Mira, Wayne and Andrea bookended the afternoon with 47 points. The Captain's cup challenge was between the Crusher's Mark M and Pam and the Destroyer's Vicki and Dale. It was a hard-fought scotch doubles format, with the lead changing several times. Surprisingly, Pam and Mark caught fire and scored 29 points. Dale and Vicki just couldn't get anything going today and skipped across the 9th hole with a new low score of 12. It's a good bet that low score will put $5 bucks in their pockets. Kenny, Krissy, Harry and Jill in Yellow next week. D1 and #5 still clinging to first place in Red. Clash next weekend. Should be fun, until then, have a good week.
