A Time To Jump
4 Person wrap-up on a beautiful Sunday morning.

Wow! Sunday should remind everyone how lucky we are to be living. Golfing with great friends on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. does it get any better? I think not. After last week's intense CLASH, this Sunday, was the friendly, relaxing 4 person scramble, at the fan favorite, Sweetgum golf course.
The results of this week turned out to be a runaway victory for Carmen, Nicole, Dean and Jon. That four-person scramble team recorded a score of 44. A tee shot that landed on the green on a par four, created a donnybrook at hole #5. Nicole drove the green and thus began an all out brawl between the Happy Gilmore group and the cynical, whinny foursome on the green. Mark Fabbro witnessed the fight and as a "Karen" had his golf game go to shit. Through all the drama, the team of Carmen, Jon, Nicole and Dean lead all teams with a 44 and birdied #9.
That brings us to the surprise of the afternoon. Coming in second place with a score of 31 were the best-looking team of the afternoon, #5, Mira and Julie. I will admit, I didn't contribute much this afternoon. It's very frustrating to play through a nagging injury. I see my doctor in two weeks and I think it's time to try to get these elbows fixed. I may need to take a season off of my baby, Happy Gilmore. Mira played well and Julie hit an "off the green" putt to give our team a birdie. This helped us come in second with a score of 31.
Not being able to keep pace with #5, Mira and Julie were team Mark F, Pam F, Wayne and Andrea. An early favorite to post a high score, this team could not come together and get anything going. Mark was off his game due to witnessing the brawl on #6, Pam was Pam, Wayne was slowly recovering from his 4 days of darkness and Andrea was nursing a hurt hand. With that being said, they scored 29 points to tie for third place. Disappointing to say the least.
Tying for third place was team Lonny, Dale and KC. Nothing much was really expected with this team, mostly we just didn't want anyone getting hurt. Lonny, by his own admission didn't play up to his expectations. KC played from the Gold tees for no apparent reason. Dale played as he normally does, just enjoying a beautiful day without a care in the world. When it was all over, they scored a 29 also. The shining moment came on #9, when Lonny birdied the 9th hole to take the money out of Carmen, Jon, Nicole and Dean's fists.
Crawling in with a low round of 24, were Harry, Craig, Mark M and Vicki. Not much to say, except they had only 4 points after 3 holes. This should help their handicap for future 4 person scrambles.
In the Captain's Cup Challenge, Carmen's Crushers of Big Jim and Jill beat Dodi's Destroyers, Bob and D1, by a score of 40-33. Jill, as described by witnesses, hit a miracle putt on 7 and the flag was their friend on an earlier hole. All 4 played very well, but it was just Jill and Big Jim's day. This victory brings the standings to 5 to 1, with the Crushers taking a demanding lead.
